Program Run Through:
This is the first screen of DivXToDVD. As you can see, it has a very clean interface with all of the key functions of the program represented as icons on the right hand side of the program.

The buttons in order are:
- To add a file
- Remove a file
- Information on a file
- Move a file up in the order
- Move a file down in the order
- Configuration panel
At the very bottom of the screen is the Convert button. Once all of your movies have been placed into the window and some blank media has been placed into the drive, you can simply click this button and the program will do the rest.
Now let's take a quick look at some of those settings.

As you can see there are quite a lot of options for you to play around with. Here I have decided to take a look at the General ones as this is where you can change your working folder on your computer and set up a different skin for the program. You can also set the option here for the program to regularly check the internet for updates. You are given the option to install updates immediately, or the prompt will allow you to install them later.
Generally VSO Software update their programs quite regularly with bug fixes, stability fixes and additional features, so this is certainly one option that it is worthwhile turning on.
Now lets move on to the Encoding settings.

Here you can set the minimum and maximum bitrate settings for your outputted movie. This way you can force the program not to drop below a certain setpoint if you want to make sure that it is of high quality throughout the entire DVD. The same goes for the maximum option. If you wish to fit lots onto a disc, then limiting the maximum rate it can achieve will result in lower file sizes but potentially poorer quality in the movies.
The final option here is the Target Size. This is to let the program know what the required size of disc it is being asked to fit the movie onto. If you specify DVD-9 then it will be free to use up to ~8.5Gb of space. If you then put a DVD-5 disc which only has 4.7Gb of space on it you may find that the movie will not fit and so will not burn.
Now we will take a look at the burning settings.

Here as you can see, you need to specify your burner along with a couple of other options. One nice option is to add your original media files to the same disc as the DVD movie you have just created. This is so that you can get them off your hard disc but will still have them available to you in their original format, should you want to do something else with them.
The delete folder option refers to the 'Working Folder" that the program uses. This is something to turn on if you are planning to make a lot of DVD's as they will soon eat up vast chunks of your hard drive.
Now let's move onto the Chapter settings.

This screen is basically for inserting chapters into your movie. This is so you can jump ahead in the movie instead of having to forward through the entire thing to get to a certain part in it.
Now lets try Creating A Movie….

bye herny

Of the programs I've played with only DVDSanta allows you to specify the resolution.

This software is one of the worst of its kind. I've tested more than 10.
My rank:
6.5/10 - output quality
3/10 - smoth playback (23.976 > 25fps sucks)
9/10 - easy to work
It have good potencial if they correct the smoth problem in all conversions I've made ntsc > pal (every second looks like is missing frames) and If the output quality gets a little better.
winavi and dvdsanta are not better than this program (they are faster but not better) and they dont suport selectable subtitles. Just google a little and you will find FREE better programs that will do all this with better quality. they are difficult to learn in the down side.
just my 2cents..
