    Changes

    • Changes affecting all versions of Windows:
    • Modified the naming of split tracks to contain 4 numbers, "0001" to "9999" instead of 3, to allow for the case where the number of split tracks for a file exceeded 999.
    • Modified the split track seconds field to store in the settings as the number rather than the index. Please verify your split track setting in the MuvAudio2 options as this fix may have caused it to be one less than you originally had set.

     Fixes

    • Fixed the console displaying the incorrect number of seconds the split track option was set to when the number was greater than 300. Please verify your split track setting in the MuvAudio2 options as this fix may have caused it to be one less than you originally had set.
    • Fixed an issue with the console error details displaying the duration as the filename and the filename as the error in certain cases.
    • Fixed an issue with the console error details erroring when clicking on the filename cell.
    • Fixed an issue with the console error details not storing the albumartist, for various artists, when saving the playlist.
    • Fixed an issue with split track files showing a dialog box stating "Error saving taglibtagfile:…" which would stop the recording process until the dialog box had been dismissed and cause the recorded file to not contain tag information.
    • Fixed an issue when using the option to "overwrite existing file", which would show a dialog box stating "Error saving taglibtagfile:…" which would stop the recording process until the dialog box had been dismissed and cause the recorded file to not contain tag information.
    • Fixed an issue which caused the numbering scheme for split tracks to add an extra 0 in front of tracks higher than 99 effectively causing them to be played out of order by other audio players.
    • Fixed an issue where the auto update feature would check for updates every time you opened the software every 45th day. It now only checks once every 45th day.

    * Changes affecting all versions of Windows:
    * Updated detection of \'files in use\' to only query files that can\'t be played until the whole file exists.
    * Update recommended recording speed algorithm to fix an issue where it was incorrectly identifying the Core and Core 2 processors and recommending a lower recording speed.
    * Modified play method back to the way v2.6.2.0 worked to address an issue for a few users.
    * Fixed issue with "ďż˝" being stored in the filename and tag information if the tags on the original file had an invalid end-string character.

    * Changes affecting Windows Vista only, denoted by **:
    * **Fixed an issue with files having the first few seconds missing from the recorded file on first generation dual-core processors in Windows Vista.
    * Fixed an issue on Windows Vista Home Basic Edition where Windows would pop-up a message that would stop the recording process until you clicked the \'OK\' button.

    * Changes affecting all versions of Windows:
    * Fixed an issue that would cause recording sessions to stop and never complete (on Vista, progress bars would reach 99% but never finish; on 2000/XP/2003, progress bars would stay the same, indefinitely).
    * Improved corrupt file and invalid file (mislabeled file extensions) detection. This helps with the above issue of random session stopping.
    * Added messagebox when a corrupt or invalid file is found, when adding files manually. It allows you to choose to not show the messagebox on subsequent invalid files. In watch folder mode, the files are never added to the record playlist and do not display a messagebox (would require user interaction which defeats the purpose of watch folder mode).
    * Updated adding files to playlist in "Watch Folder Mode" to detect files already in use (would cause the file to not be recorded successfully). Now, it will try the file on additional searches and add them when not in use. This is useful when watching a folder where files are currently be downloaded to and may not be completely downloaded at the time MuvAudio tries to add them to the playlist.
    * Updated splashscreen to resolve issues with "System.BadImageException" errors, random users were experiencing on first run.
    * Updated estimated completion time on Vista to be more accurate in cases of invalid files causing under estimations.
    * Updated Audio Control Component to increase stability.
    * Updated Krypton Toolkit Component to increase stability.

Changes affecting all versions of Windows:

    * Removed some excess logging introduced in v2.6.2.0
    * Fixed an issue regarding output files not being created if a user enter " \\ ", " \\", or any other combination of spaces and a backslash in the output directory separator field.
    * Fixed a bug where the "Remove Selected File(s)" context menu on the playlist in the add to files form didn\'t do anything.
    * Fixed an issue with the program randomly crashing due to the enabling of visual styles.
    * Fixed an issue with files that didn\'t record successfully on the first, continually trying to record when "Watch Folder Mode" was enabled.
    * Fixed an issue with the handling of invalid files on the first session, not start the rest of the sessions.
    * Modified trial to allow to continue after 30 days in cases where the trial prematurely expired.
    * Update the exception handler form to submit better information to make it easier to resolve the issues.

    * Changes affecting Windows Vista only, denoted by **:
    * **Modified the play method to reduce stops in Vista

    * Changes affecting all versions of Windows:
    * Added the ability to extend the trial version, if requested.
    * Added message to trial screen to better inform users of trial voice in recorded files. This is useful for users that download the trial from a site that doesn\'t display this information to them.
    * Added automatic re-registering of the wmp.dll file when it detects a corrupt installation of Windows Media Player along with instructions on restarting MuvAudio2 to verify the fix and a link to the faq describing the issue.
    * Added the setting of the main soundcard on the closing of the console when file errors were detected during recording because file errors are the most common cause that would not rest the soundcard properly.
    * Added the option to specify Joint Stereo Mode or Regular Stereo Mode when recording to MP3 CBR.
    * Added support to specify the filetypes that "Watch Folder Mode" will look for and convert, if found.
    * Added support setting the output directory to be the same as the location of the file you are converting from. If the output file is the same name as the original file, the original will be renamed adding ".orig" in front of the file extension (i.e., sample.mp3 becomes sample.orig.mp3).
    * Added the saving of the "View Style" setting between loads of the "Add Files To Playlist" form.
    * Added "Type" to the playlist to show the file extension. This allows sorting of the filetypes for easy removal.
    * Added "Length" to the playlist columns to show the length of the files. This is useful for decreasing the time of the playlist by specific amounts.
    * Added disabling of "Output Folder" button in the console if using the "Output Directory is the same as the Original Directory" option.
    * Added updating of example filename and example output directory to update based on the selected file in the playlist.
    * Added the ability to double-click on an empty part of the main playlist to open up the "Add Files To Playlist" form.
    * Added a label (when the playlist is empty), stating that you can double-click or drag files onto the main playlist to easily add items to that playlist.
    * Added the ability to open the exact folder of the file being recorded to, when you double-click on the song info label next to each session in the console.
    * Updated "Add to Playlist" form components to fix issues with it freezing and/or crashing for some users.
    * Updated AudioRepeater to open with the correct wave-in and wave-out devices set and automatically start listening. This happens when you click the "Speaker" icon next to the appropriate session in the console.
    * Modified the storing of alreadyrecorded files information when using "Watch Folder Mode", to now store only the minimal information necessary, to reduce file size and issues with the xml file becoming corrupt.
    * Modified ViewStyle button in "Add to Playlist" to act as a split button allow a button click to toggle between styles and having the dropdown list to select from as well.
    * Modified startup of MuvAudio2 to help with the randoming crashing regarding "System.BadImageFormatException". If you still experience this, load MuvAudio2 right after the crash again and it should open fine.
    * Modified the order of the VBR Presets to be from lowest (top) to highest (bottom) quality.
    * Modified tooltip of file being recorded in the console to show the path and file of the output file.
    * Fixed an issue with the directory combobox in "Add to Playlist" that would cause it to not show current directory on load or when changing folders within the fileview.
    * Fixed an issue that would cause the trial to expire, or become invalid, if the user changes the DateTime format (or locale) of the computer after first using the software. It may be necessary for a user affected by this problem to run the software once under the original locale to reset the trial data.
    * Fixed an issue with the .mpc, .ape, .wv, .ofr, .ofs, .tta support being enabled when .flac support was enabled. It now is enabled correctly, when their extension codecs are installed.
    * Fixed an issue where sessions 2-10 would not start if only one song was in session one and it would not play due to an error with the file.
    * Fixed an issue where files and/or directories with one character would have 0 plus the character added to them, i.e., directory X would become X0X and file X would become 0X.
    * Fixed an issue where the trial sound on some machines running Windows XP would cause the whole file to play at slower than the normal speed; kind of like a record player set to lower speed to make the chipmunks sound normal or to make normal people sound like monsters :).
    * Fixed an issue when using output using original filename when the original file had an extension greater than 3 characters.
    * Fixed installation of MVC not actually installing when it detected that the .sys file still existed in the windows\\system32\\driver folder.
    * Fixed an issue with downloading an update, "The given path\'s format is not supported.", from within the software if you were using v2.5.0.0.
    *
    * Changes affecting Windows Vista only, denoted by **:
    * **Added support for Windows Vista (64-bit): requirements and instructions can be found at http://muvaudio.com/vistax64.php
    * **Added support for using more than one core on multi-core processors when running Windows Vista.
    * **Fixed an issue that would stop the recording process for any remaining files when one file to be recorded encountered an error using Windows Vista. It now continues on like normal.
    * **Fixed an issue where files would contain skips when a file in another session encountered an error and tried to move on the to next song, in Windows Vista. It now waits for completion of all current sesssion files before moving on to the next file.
    * **Fixed an issue with the renaming of mvc cables form when dpi was set greater than 96, in Vista.
    * **Updated the Maximum Recommended Recording Speed algorithm on multi-core machines in Windows Vista to increase speeds because of the now functioning multi-core spreading of all sessions (only applies to Windows Vista).
    * **Updated MuvEnum Virtual Cable version to one that does not require the renaming of cables (no longer requires admin on first run) or the changing of the ms interrupt in Windows Vista on a first time installation; however, once you install this new version, you cannot install previous versions of MuvAudio2 due to the name changes in the MVCs and Vista remembering previous names from first install (this does not apply to Windows XP, 2000, or 2003 Server; you can revert back to old versions of MuvAudio2 without issues on these version of Windows).
    * **Modified how sessions are informed to play and wait when using Windows Vista. This should address issues where recording of all sessions would stop and never start again and the % complete would countinue to count up to 99% and sit there, on Windows Vista.
    * **Modified the use of the Mic device to instead use the Line device when recording, in Vista.
    * **Modified location of the viewstyle button and the help button on the toolstrips in the "Add to Playlist" form so they are viewable in Vista without having to hit the expander on the end of the toolstrip.

Added support for Windows Vista© (32-bit). Added support for using MuvAudio2 under an administrator account or standard user account in Windows Vista© Added support for saving and loading different settings (accessible from the playlist button). Added a “retry” option to the exception submission in case you haven’t allowed access for MuvAudio2 through your firewall. Added MessageBox on Update form to inform the user that there is an update, rather than just showing the information. Added tentative support for converting from ".m4a", ".mp4", ".ogg", ".flac", ".spx", ".mpc", ".ape", ".wv", ".ofr", ".ofs", and ".tta". files when appropriate WMP plugins are installed. Added the running of MuvAudio2 Reset Soundcard at the completion of installation to address an issue with the installation of MuvEnum Virtual Cable setting one of the devices as the default audio device (only if .NET 2.0 is installed). Added an option (yes/no messagebox) on uninstall to be taken to our website to provide feedback of why you are uninstalling MuvAudio2 (to help us improve the software). Added some checks to make sure sessions close when "stopping and exiting" in the console when sessions are repeating the error dialogs shown by Windows Media Player. Modified the output directory and filename examples to use ellipsis. This allows more characters to fit in the label and auto creates a tooltip of the full information on mouseover. This also applies to the song labels on the Console. Modified installer to default to only the current user shortcut creation, but added option to create all shortcuts for all users on the computer. Modified Watch Folder Mode to only care about previously recorded files using Watch Folder Mode if you use the "Leave Original File(s) Alone" option. The other two options will treat all files as never having been recorded. This is how it should've been from the start. Modified text on Reset Soundcard app when run from the installer to be more "setup" oriented. Modified error message when audioctl.dll was not properly registered to inform the user to reinstall MuvAudio2 to fix the issue. This can happen when you install a different program that uses the same dll in their directory and their uninstall deregisters it. Fixed an issue with album art sometimes not being embedded into mp3 files if the previous file recorded on the session had the same album name as the current file. Fixed an issue with "Watch Folder Mode" giving a "MuvAudio2 Console is already open" error over and over, not allowing it to proceed with the recording process. Fixed some graphical anomalies with the bottom section of the console. Fixed typo in trial version when selecting "delete" or "move" file option, stating the trial sound will play every 5 seconds (changed to 30). Fixed issue where dragging a file onto the form that was supported would enable the recording button, which if pressed and started, would cause MuvAudio2 to crash. Moved and resized the output folder label and filename label so their distance from the splitter box is the same. Removed the splashscreen when an error with audioctl.dll is found.

v2.1.0.0 [09-09-2006] * Fixed an issue where the registration menu item was still shown to registered users * Fixed an issue with vbr settings using the kHz setting of the last selected CBR setting * Fixed an issue where the time remaining would show 5 to 1 seconds left when it had completed in "Watch Folder Mode" * Fixed an issue where the error log files for skipped files would sometimes not be deleted and continually show upon recording completion * Fixed an issue where some files with a capitalized extension were not being added in regular or watch folder mode * Fixed an issue where "Watch Folder Mode" would stop searching for new files if it ever reached the point that it had converted all files in the selected folder and subfolder. If you now put files in any of those folders after it has searched and found none, it will now correctly keep searching and file and record the new files. * Modified "Watch Folder Mode" to consider two files equivalent even if the casing is different * Modified the way sessions start so that they all load before starting playback and recording (decreases startup time) * Modified support for input files. MuvAudio2 now supports the following attributes: 8-16bit, 1-2 channels. Note: Support for the following attributes: 8-32bit, 8,000-192,000kHz, 1-8 channels (combined into 2) can be added by following the instructions in the FAQ. * Modified MVC interrupts per millisecond to 5 to help prevent skips * Modified estimated recording time algorithm * Modified installer to detect if MuvAudio2 has been installed before regarding the addressing of the nView issue. The "View MuvAudio2 Users Guide" option is now unchecked by default. Added "Start MuvAudio2 on Finish" to final options (unchecked by default). * Moved disabling of screensaver to be initiated by the console (read below for added support of disabling the disabling of the screensaver * Added support for 120DPI at resolutions of 1280x1024 and higher (fixes issues with different things getting cutoff) * Added support for disabling the automatic disabling of the screensaver (to do this, add an empty text file in your installation folder with the name of "ignoress.txt", without quotes) - This is helpful if you still want your monitor to power down, if enabled, and you have the screensaver set to (None) in Windows. * Updated Audio Control to use the same version as MuvAudio v1.7
