A freeware tool for the detailed analysis of video clips and audio files of nearly all formats, designs and tastes. Though this does not yet make your computer an all-you-can-eat-device, it will provide a large amount of information, e.g. on how the problematic video is composed.

And on top you get the possibility to outsmart your DVD-player by simply changing the identification of a clip, from Xvid to DivX for example. The software recognizes and analyses the following video file formats: ASF, AVI, DIVX, MPG, MPEG, M1V, M2V, TS, MP4, M4A, M4P, MKV, MKA, WMV, 3GP, 3G2, AVS, MP3, OGG, WAV and WMA.

Video information comprises

• the number of muxed video streams
• resolution
• refresh rate
• used bit rate
• bit rate mode (constant bit rate, variable bit rate)
• total number of all frames
• FourCC (video identification in the file header)
• interlaced or progressive mode
• MPEG-level (1,2)
• picture aspect ratio, AR
• pixel aspect ratio, PAR

Audio information comprises the 

• number of audio tracks
• used audio format
• used audio bit rate
• number of channels
• sample rate
• bit depth per sample
